This No Sugar Added this has proved to be difficult. The first week was terrible. I was OK with the cashew butter instead of peanut butter, but the NSA ketchup did NOT compare to regular. So I cut out ketchup for a couple weeks. I will admit, I cheated a bit the day before Thanksgiving and on Thanksgiving on sweets. It was too hard to be tempted with sweets, so I had a little dessert. But I’ve gotten right back on it for the rest of the week. No Sugar Added – I feel better not taking in as much sugar as I was. Or think I was. I have a jar full of candy next to me at work and have not had a piece! Go me! I love dessert, and I’ll never be one of those people who never ever has it, but I need to look at it like a treat.
I’ve gained a few lb’s (not sure how?) but I’d like to try a new workout plan that incorporates Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Trainer into the mix. How was your Thanksgiving? I made Sweet Potato Potato Salad and Bacon Sweet Potato Cheesecake.
I have a list of things that I can do on any day, that automatically make me feel better and healthier. And when you feel healthy and proud of your choices, your more likely to continue to make healthy choices, right? Here’s my list…
6 Little Things That Make Me Feel Unbelievably Healthy (What’s On Your List?)
1. Drinking multiple glasses of water at work. Drinking water makes me feel like I am fueling my metabolism and purifying my body. Geesh I sounds like a dork. There are many many benefits to drinking H20.
2. Stretching/yoga – Stretching feels so good on those sore muscles that just need to be relaxed.
3. A hot Epsom salt bath – A hot salt bad sucks the toxins out of the body after a rough week of work and exercising.
4. taking my multivitamin and omega-3
5. the 5 minutes after a workout at the gym when you’re walking out, catching your breath, and proud of yourself that you just went and did that thing and are going home after a long day.
6. getting 8 hours of sleep
What makes you feel healthy?

Thanks for sharing Brianna!! I love to read the inspiring “blog bites”. I too have started to make better choices not because I never knew better because I did. I am making better choices because I am finally learning what “how” those good choices are benefiting my body & how good they are for me! Makes it easier to continue to make better choices!

Hey that’s great!!!
I’m really bad with taking my vitamins – but I completely agree with point 5; I realise sometimes I spend far too long trying to convince myself that I’m too tired to go to the gym, but there’s really nothing like walking out after a good session!
Eating ice cream, watching tv, and reading healthy living blogs
Eating ice cream, watching tv and reading healthy living blogs. I live healthy through others.
Water gives me the exact same feeling! I can’t hardly drink anything else without feeling weighed down. Water just makes me feel so CLEAN! And I’m loving stretching right before bed these days. Such a great way to unwind. Love the blog!
Thanks! Water makes you feel so good!
The weight you’ve gained may be muscle. Kudos to you for maintaining a healthy diet!
I love the feeling I have after I’ve had a good, intense workout. I’m tired but satisfied.
Thanks! It’s not always easy, and I think it’s ok to treat yourself every once in awhile. We’re human right!
Right! I think the key to eating right is 2 things: modifying the dishes you love so they’re healthier and you don’t feel deprived, plus having a small treat now and then is also good.
I couldn’t have said that better myself!
Number one is so true!!! On the weekends I’m not nearly as good about drinking water as I am at work. I have a big reusable water up that I fill up at least 5x a day while I’m at work. It makes me feel so good!!
weekends are so hard to drink water cause I’m usually doing stuff!! I feel like a shriveled up PRUNE some weekends when I forget I’m not drinking water.
OMG I do far more than 6 things that make me feel super healthy… Let’s see: sleeping 7-8 hours, snacking on spinach & spaghetti squash, not eating sugar in 10 years, exercising every single day for 1.5 hours – 3 hours, laughing constantly, smiling at everyone, working hard to get what I want in life, taking lots of vitamins, wolfing down salmon like it’s my job and having a phenomenal support system through my friends and family!! Weeee!! So much to be happy about. I hope everyone is just as happy!
What do you do at the gym for 1.5-3 hours? That’s a long time!
Great list. I think mine would be 1) Enough sleep (too rare), 2) a full glass of water first thing in the morning before ANYTHING else 3) fresh fruit, 4) a good brisk walk, 5) leafy greens, and 6) playing with my children
Yes! #5 is so key.
Drinking lots of water always makes me feel better. I’m so glad I ‘trained’ myself to drink water, I used to hate it! I also find doing a 2k run at the gym makes me feel knackered but amazing (I’m not very good at running). Even if I feel like I don’t want to do it, I know it makes me feel brilliant, so I run it anyway
