OK I lied. We don’t have a pantry. Do only rich people have pantries? I digress. We use two cupboards. (Check out the Puggle calendar.)
Here is a list of the “must haves” in our kitchen.
Ketchup- Sliced cheese
- Yogurt
- Milk
- Fruit (apples and bananas – did anyone learn this song as a kid?)
- Onions
- Panko
- Potatoes (including sweet potatoes and frozen french fries)
- Taco seasoning
- Chicken breasts
- Salsa
- Eggs
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Our appliance staples would be:
- NuWave
- Ninja
- Keurig
- Mixer (check out the sweet decals on my KitchenAid Mixer – Professional Series)
- My awesome cutting board (Pride of Dakota for those of you who know what that means). It’s Corian and I love it.
- Good set of knives — I am hoping to upgrade with wedding money

Love the mixer decal! I need me one. We have a lot of the same basics; I’d add soy sauce, chickpeas, curry paste, peanut butter, and popcorn kernels to our list. Ben is a popcorn freak (just like his mama).
Do you pop your own? We have an air popper? I love peanut butter but we have cut back because of the calories. We have tried the powdered peanut butter. Curry paste huh? We do have the powder but I don’t use it that frequently to call it a staple. Soy sauce is another good one. Do you use low sodium?
You HAVE TO ADD a toaster oven to you kitchen appliance staples. I freaking LOVE my toaster oven, and it has proved to me that it can do amazing things:

Our NuWave acts as a toaster oven!
ok.ok. I just needed to make sure your kitchen arsenal was properly armed.
Totally armed and ready to go!
[...] I start my meal planning on Sunday’s of every week. I know that if we don’t have a plan in place we won’t stick to healthy eating. So true, right? So every Sunday evening I start with going through the cupboards to see what we have and what staples we need. Which probably leads me to your first question, “What are your kitchen staples?” Well…you can find all that on my post “Our Pantry Staples.” [...]
