Low Calorie Peanut Butter

Is that an oxy moron? No, it’s true! Low-calorie peanut butter does exist. And it is healthy!

I brought home some powdered eanut butter and within a couple hours Garrett was intrigued and mixed some up.

You take two tablespoons and mix with one tablespoon of water until creamy. Bing-bang-boom you got yourself some low calorie peanut butter. Just how low are we talking here?

Two tablespoons of traditional peanut butter contains about 200 calories, while two tablespoons powdered peanut butter contains just 45 calories.

(I enjoyed it by the spoonful and on a piece of toast with some sugar-free raspberry jam.)

Oh and did I mention it also has less fat? 85% less to be exact. Hungry Girl recommends PB2 and Fitnutz. What we happened to have was Just Great Stuff Organic powdered Peanut Butter. They must all be fairly similar though. It is even sweet with the coconut sugar in it. Garrett already wants to order more and we have barely made a dent in this jar. PB2 recommends reconstituting your peanut butter powder with other liquids like honey, jams, or jelly’s. One of my favorite food bloggers Peanut Butter Fingers uses PB2. You can also use this is different dessert recipes or shakes. Some that I want to try:

PB2 also offers a chocolate flavor PB2. I might need to get my hands on some of that.

So, are you going to try it?
